(Thread) The Occult Founding of America: On How the United States And The British Empire Were The Same Project (and why current events shouldn't be that surprising to you).
The fascinating hypothesis that John Dee (1527-1608) mathematician, alchemist, sorcerer, astronomer, astrologer, occultist, philosopher and adviser to Elizabeth I incepted both the British Empire and the United States and therefore in large part the modern world.
First, John Dee. Dee was a hermeticist and magician who wrote the Mons Hierglyphica (basically a Kabbalahistic Chaos Magick) and De Heptarchia Mystica. He was heavily involved in the occult.
He was also heavily involved in the first English translation of Euclid's Elements from the original Greek
Dee spent a considerable portion of the 1570s waging a kind of memetic war on Elizabeth I, persuading her of the need for English expansionism. Brytannicae reipublicae synopsis (1570) and Perfect Arte of Navigation (1576) advocated for an English empire in the New World.
The theory has it that Elizabeth I then instructed Dee to raid the records and libraries in order to establish a formal claim to the Americas in response to Spanish expansion.
This much is actually true. Dee scribbled a note on the back of this 1580 map (note Dee was a skilled cartographer and studied with Mercator on the continent):
And later in 1580 went on to lay out a formal claim to America in Title Royal on the basis that it had previously been conquered by Brutus of Britain, King Arthur and Prince Madog ab Owain Gwynedd (Welsh Indians anyone?)
What is perhaps less well know is the next part. Sir Humphrey Gilbert was granted letters patent granting him licence to explore and secure territory in North America. In return for his cartographic skill, Gilbert granted Dee what amounts to modern Canada and Alaska.
Gilbert's venture ultimately failed but Dee? (Gilbert was the half brother of Sir Walter Raleigh by the way, yes the same one and importantly for our story a suspected pederast).
Dee, as a 'token of occupation', secretly designed and had built an occult solar and lunar observatory, camera obscura and solar dial in the recently opened 'New World'.
(It was usual to have to build a fort and occupy it for a year to complete a claim).
Where is it then? It sits as you might expect in New England. On pre colonial maps Narragansett Bay is named 'Dee River and Port'.
Hidden in plain sight in the Touro Park, Newport, Rhode Island. The Newport Tower is an Occult place marker, made at the inception of the nations', and the Empire's, prehistory.
