Is it possible to read a book in the author’s voice? Yes, when you are reading An Era of Darkness by @ShashiTharoor 🙌🏼 Book 1 of 2020 🌼

Book 2 of 2020, Raavan by @authoramish

Not a person who posts pictures on Twitter but gonna make a thread of books I read this year. Here’s to a lovely and refreshing book number 3 of 2020 🌼

Here’s to book number 4 of 2020 🌼 A book about Shakuntala, a name that is associated with abandonment, mostly.

Book 5 of 2020 🌼 Not so grand, quite boring at some points but description of Delhi, Lodhi Garden and the roads were done brilliantly

Book 6 of 2020 🌼 Extremely relatable and presented with facts. Has nothing about bollywood and hits hard. Loved reading it slowly and would recommend to everyone.

Book 7 of 2020 🌼 Moved beyond words. I’m intrigued is an understatement right now.

Book 8 of 2020 🌼 This is more like your self care diary which should be with you everyday. It soothes your mind and becomes your best friend with or without the grief in your life. Ps. I searched for this book like a mad person only to find it at @faqirchandbooks ♥️

Book 9 of 2020 🌼 Unabashedly the book peeks inside the infamous GB road of Delhi which is mostly not talked about. The life or fiction (?) of Delhi’s red light district, penned by our very own @thedelhiwalla is a chronicle worth reading. You smell a bit of dilli here :)

Book 10 of 2020 🌼 It’s the most unusual story and moves you in tears at some (or most?) points. I have always read Cecilia’s love stories and my dearest friend suggested I would like this Jojo woman too. Not disappointed at all, infact I have loved this book.

Book 11 of 2020 🌼 Gerry with his gorgeous smile and Holly with her warmth is back into my life leaving me in tears exactly like they both did years ago with PS I Love You. This is like looking back but only to find the roots and the wings at the same time.

Book 12 of 2020 🌼 I’m not a fan of poetry so much because I lack the art of making one but this was a refreshing change from a story or mystery which keeps me on the edge. A nice collection of some poems (217) of Rumi, translated in English.

Book 13 of 2020 🌼 I’m such a Bollywood fan but somehow was disappointed here. Mostly because the book was based on research and interviews done on her or by her rather than the person herself speaking.

Book 14 of 2020 🌼 Mysterious and gripping; true to its genre. You won’t put it down if you enjoy reading Thrillers.

Book 15 of 2020 🌼 My favourite female author, she’s so beautiful with her words that even though I have never seen the Calcutta & California she talks about, I must have dreamt about it. What a lovely tale of desire & love which is beyond the dictionary meaning.

Book 16 of 2020 🌼 The story lacks a flow though description of places, clothes, food & jewellery was done nicely. Since it is based on a timeline where Independence & war with India should have formed some part of the narrative, it completely missed its existence.

Book 17 of 2020 🌼 It took me a while to finish this book because of what has been going on around in the world but trust me with all the news updates and social distancing, this book kept me calm. Books always do that, don’t they? :)

Book 18 of 2020 🌼 Kabul and the struggles of two women from the same family based in different timelines, each drawing strength from within themselves to survive and change their naseeb. What a gripping story!

Book 19 of 2020 🌼 This book takes you back to the dark days of Europe during the World War II. Gripping and intriguing story of a woman who moves to Italy, her mother’s country, from England after her husband’s death. A dramatic tale of patriotism and love.

Book 20 of 2020 🌼 What a joy to read you Murakami, what an absolute joy.

Book 21 of 2020 🌼 I couldn’t be in the mountains this summer so I picked up a Ruskin Bond’s book. Also reading him on his birthday month is a ritual. He says, he looked for solitude and got it but he didn’t look for loneliness which also he got. And that stayed with me ✨

Book 22 of 2020 🌼 A fourth non fiction book of this year for me and I must say that’s a big thing for the reader in me. Nilanjana Roy has written about her journey with books, cities and also managed to share some amazing anecdotes by Indian authors. Refreshing take 🌟

Book 23 of 2020 🌼 Not a fan of fantasy novels/series but this was a delightful read. Finished it in two parts because it wasn’t gripping enough for me to stay up all night. I’m sure people who love fantasy will LOVE this book. For me it was just a good read.

Book 24 of 2020 🌼 Read this book even if it’s the only book you get to read it this year. I never recommend books but this one is something which each one of us should read.

Book 25 of 2020 🌼 I am a cat lover and after reading this book I would like to term myself as one of them! What an insightful book even if you are not a cat lover or a buddhist follower. 5/5
