To turn Nagarkot into fiefdom of his friend Birbal, Akbar invaded Jwalamukhi temple. His army killed 200 cows inside the temple. They destroyed Golden Chatri of Goddess & threw blood filled shoes at the temple. Killed so many Brahmins that Hindus began heaping curses on Birbal


Akbar wanted to give Birbal the Jagir of Nagarkot. He imprisoned the local king Raja Jai Chand and sent Husain Quli Khan to invade Nagarkot. The Jwalamukhi temple was taken at the outset. Lakhs of Pahari Hindu pilgrims were put to put to sword. The Golden Umbrella damaged


200 black cows belonged to Goddess Jwalamukhi. They were all slaughtered in cold blood inside the temple. Akbar's soldiers filled their shoes with blood and threw it on the door and walls of the temple. The Brahmin priests of the temple were all killεd by Akbar's soldiers
