🌿Thanjavur painting is a classical South Indian painting style, which originated from the town of Thanjavur (anglicized as Tanjore).They are characterized by rich,flat colours, glittering gold foil work & the use of glass beads and sometimes precious and semi-precious gems🌿
Thanjavur paintings are panel paintings done on wooden planks, and hence referred to as palagai padam (Wooden plank picture). In modern times, these paintings have become souvenirs for festive occasions in South India, colourful pieces of art to decorate walls & for art lovers.
