Fellow Kenyans, what do you make of this outburst by @HonKangata denouncing dynasties? He said: “The Kenyatta, Moi and Odinga families have held the country hostage for 57 years. Aren’t they tired?”

Do you know the colour of political rubbish? Why is this anti-dynasty talk common in Kikuyu and Kalenjin lands? What is this coincidence those who supported dynasties foolishly and intransigently are now faking progressive principles?

This anti-dynasty crusade is Kikuyu revisionism. It is Kikuyu's halfhearted admission of guilt. It is the Kikuyu grudgingly admitting they sunk the country into an abyss through ethnic myopia and arrogance. But trying to save face by purporting to save the nation from dynasty

Ask yourself. When did these Kikuyu leaders discover that Uhuru is a dynasty? Why is it bad now but it was acceptable just 3 years ago? They cannot answer because of shame. So, they go round in circles with fictitious reawakening by bashing dynasties.

The Kikuyu leaders' first order of business was to kill Parliament politically. So that their god-given leader Uhuru could rule unilaterally. They allowed the government to borrow money beyond sustainable limits and even passed laws taking away individual liberties

They wanted their government to effectively deal with the opposition. They even urged Uhuru to forget about democracy and become a dictator and deal ruthlessly with Raila Odinga

Now the chickens are coming home to roost; they look back and see their role in the current mess. In this, they are united with their people. But they can’t directly own up to their choice of President Uhuru Kenyatta whom they hoisted on Kenya with reckless aplomb.

They seek a face-saving escape. That the problem is dynasties. What nonsense! To avoid open admission of Uhuru’s failure, they have to rope in Raila Odinga. What a perfect excuse Raila gave them with that handshake.

When Raila opposed the Uhuru government, the Kikuyu accused him of sabotaging the government and stopping it from performing. Fine, he decided to support “his brother” Uhuru. The goalposts changed. Raila has abandoned opposition, now see the corruption.

And why did Uhuru accept Raila’s handshake? How does Raila share the problem when he doesn’t have a public office or executive powers under the law? Those are too difficult questions for the house of Mumbi. We don’t have time to argue; we have businesses to run you know

Second, Kikuyu do not want to admit the country is in a deep mess because of the failure of Uhuru and Ruto. They would rather blame Raila who is not in government.

If it was genuine guilt and they wanted to rid Kenya of bad governance, they would demand that Uhuru and Ruto step down. Or at least retire together for being such a letdown. Such a “useless duo”

There is no justification why Raila is guilty of Uhuru’s leadership while the DP with whom they have managed the government for 8 years is the alternative to Uhuru. It’s a logic that can only flourish in the fertile soils and the cold weather in Mt Kenya

This dynasty story enables Kikuyu leaders to wear a facade of consciousness. The chance to pretend to care about Kenya, while concealing their contradictions and hypocrisy. To avoid facing the fact that their candidate is part of the failed the regime
