Its not enough to say-“I know so many people whose lives were hurt or ruined by this theology of yours.” I also know a lot of people who have been hurt by the the replacement philosophy. The same theology you dont like has saved & deeply enriched many. How do we explain this? 1/3
One answer is that the Christians who profess to have been helped by this Christian theology are deluded. The other answer is that the people who say they have been abused by the church are exaggerating. Each view takes one set people’s experiences too lightly and is wrong. 2/3
The best answer is—the historic church has egregiously wronged many people, which we should lament, but it has done so in contradiction to its theology of Christ’s love. 3/3
