The initial report of #SaudiArabia Ballistic Missile report came out in 2013, when IHS Janes Weeklu published an article headlined "Saudi ballistic missile site revealed" and the acquisition happened after the US permission.


Even prior to 2011 the basic infrastructure was there with a 3 km long runway. Now the base is much more expanded with a residential colony of military personnel in the nearby town called Masal.


There are few tunnels or underground storage facilities besides the main base.


Now the big question is what prompted the US to revisit this news and does it indicate a change of US policies towards Saudi Arabia especially due to the rogue behavior of MBS.


According to SIPRI, Saudi Arabia has acquired 50 DF-3/CSS-2 SSMs during 1987-88 for an undisclosed amount. These Missiles are based at Al-Watah and Al Sulayyil ballistic missile base
