Tinubu had caged Aregbe in Lagos long before today and counted him out of his circle of trusted aides. Aregbe battling to establish supremacy in Osun will be a tough battle for him unless he's willing to align with APC - pulling off an Ambode with Oyetola may not be so easy.

Aregbe's political base had always been in Lagos - his dominance in Alimosho over the years started as far back as the Third Republic with a HoR run while Tinubu ran for Senate. His first glory moment though was being Commissioner for Works for 8 years in Lagos, under Tinubu.

Hard to feel any sympathy for Bola Tinubu as his political empire largely rests on the influence of underlords like Aregbe whom have now chosen the moment of his second most important battle, to gut him from within. This is Tinubu at his weakest, Tinubu at his most vulnerable.

The two most prominent disciples who most understand Tinubu are Fashola and Aregbe. Fashola battled like a gentleman but Aregbe will play on the street and the worst outcome is a draw - Tinubu cannot win this and Tinubu will not fight this battle; his victory is elsewhere...
