Some examples of how infuriatingly out-of-touch Western (in this case the EU) diplomats are on Myanmar. By arguing for the status quo, you are holding water for a military junta that systematically executes politicians and burns civilians to death in their homes.
Western diplomats have spent the entire time since the coup pushing those opposed to the military coup and the genocidal dictatorship that has murdered thousands since towards dialogue and disavowing violent resistance. This does nothing but carry water for the Junta.
The Burmese people tried peaceful resistance. Nearly a thousand of them were mowed down in the street by automatic rifles by the very Junta diplomats now insist on dialogue with. How dare you sit in your privilege and dictator to the Burmese people how they're allowed to resist.

This is (to put it lightly) absolute garbage. For them to sit safely in their embassies (often paying the junta for the privilege) and dictate to people paying their lives to fight for freedom how they can fight is not only absurd but complete moral abdication.
It's clear to anyone that the violence from a genocidal, murderous and brutal military is worse than violent resistance against that military. Even the diplomats must see that. But their job/worldview is so centred on the legitimisation of state violence that they give it a pass.
