When I see what’s floating around on social media about how to study and how to prepare, I see too many short cuts and ‘smart work’ strategies. In education and serious study dive, there are no short cuts. It’s requires deep purposeful study and deep engagement.

That involves deep efforts at writing, revising, memorisation, writing again, thinking through and introspection. It involves relating what we study with developments around us. Thats Strategy for Engaged, Active and Deep Study. At edukemy we call this the SEADS approach.

Engaged Study- u must have the self drive to get into the process. A self driven, inner motivation. Nobody can force this from outside. It’s your interest. It’s your inner drive. It’s ur intentions. Ask what drives u.

Active Study- Write & Write. Copy statements. Note words. Read again. Write again. Memorise. Recall. Teach others. Get involved. Take feedback. Work again. These r repetitive iterations These elements of active study ve flywheel effect. These drive ur effective engagement too.

Deep Study- Question. Think. Relate. Look for examples. Introspect. This is one step almost all skip. We don’t think enough. We don’t think deep enough to relate to what we read. We don’t apply. We don’t question enough.

These are fundamental elements in study. These are the pillars of education. UPSC prep is no different.

If u like what I am sharing, let me know. I will video record a strategy to set this up.
