In this article, I share my own team and transfers for GW6: 👀⬇️

Q) Who to captain this week? I see only two realistic contenders in most teams to captain – Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah. Haaland is given a 64% chance by the bookmakers to score anytime, as compared to Salah’s 49% this week. It’s evident Haaland has more potential...

... than Salah this week – if both play a similar number of minutes. There’s no doubting that Haaland’s numbers have been on another level this season: xGi GW 1-5 Haaland 7.8 Mitrovic 6.2 Kane 5.6 Jesus 4.9 Martinelli 4.3 Toney/Sterling/Zaha 4.0 Salah 3.7

However, that is where predicting expected minutes and your own risk assessment comes into play. The Manchester City fans on their forums have Haaland in almost all of their predicted lineups. I personally prefer Haaland as he was subbed early in midweek but...

... crucially, Pep Guardiola in his pre-match conference has hinted that Haaland will start again: “He’s 22. Recovers well. When he’s 32, more difficult. 22, not a problem.” It looks as if Pep will look to manage Haaland’s minutes by early substitutions rather...

... than complete rests at this point in time. This quote is enough for me to trust him with the armband again.

Q) Who is the best Rodrigo replacement? I think that Rodrigo's best replacement is Trossard. Zaha's stats are the best from the lot but I don't think there's big haul potential in any of his next 3 (new, MUN, bri) which is why I prefer a Brighton attacker. Groß is nice...

... as well but I'd go Trossard if you can afford him. Trossard has double the number of shots in the box (10 v 5) & penalty area touches (30 v 17) as compared to Groß and this is despite the fact that he played a few matches as Brighton’s wing-back. Trossard seems like a...

... more explosive pick to me even though Groß will continue to tick over and represent value.

Q) What to do with Perisic – keep or sell? If selling, who to buy as replacement? Unless we get any early confirmation that he is starting, I’d sell Perisic this week. Unless I am proved wrong with the early team leaks, I don’t think Perisic will start this week.

I say that as he has already played 90 minutes in midweek and then has a Champions League fixture followed by a trip to Man City next week. If there is any fixture Antonio Conte would want to rest him for, it’s against Fulham this week. Conte, by his own admission, has...

... talked up rotation in a recent interview: “In other situations, I prefer to keep the balance in that moment and also because in two days we have to play against Fulham and for sure I will make rotations. My players know very well, but they are ready, and we are ready to...

... face this many games in a row, in two or three days.” Reece James & Neco Williams would be my top two replacements so I’d get whichever one of those you don’t own. I'd be very concerned if I didn't own either this GW.

James is ranked second for xGi this season despite the fact that he has played a sizable number of minutes as a centre back this season and missed a fixture. With Fofana’s signing, he is expected to play as the right wing back on a more frequent basis which would make him an...

... even better pick. I also like the look of Neco Williams. He ranks first for shots and shots in the box for defenders, as well as first for big chance involvements and second for chances created. He created three chances, including one big chance, against Man City as well.

Now he’s up against a Bournemouth side who have conceded more chances on their left flank than any other team in the league this season. What I like about Williams is that he is so cheap, he allows plenty of upgrades elsewhere in the squad. With a lot of us FPL managers...

... wildcarding soon, I think there is enough upside that I see to punt on Williams with the fixtures in his favour.

Q) Cucurella – keep or sell? I’d keep faith with Marc Cucurella this week. West Ham are in the bottom five for non-penalty expected goals this season and Chelsea are ranked as the third-most likely team to keep a clean sheet by the bookmakers’ odds this week.

Further, West Ham are 19th for chances conceded down their right flank this season, which gives me more confidence to keep Cucurella despite Chelsea’s poor form.

Q) Is it worth selling Robertson? Andy Robertson is becoming a concern as his underlying numbers have been poor and paying the premium for someone who is showing occasional defensive solidity and attacking threat is becoming hard to justify.

In fact, he is yet to register a single big chance involvement for Liverpool this season. To be precise, his xGi per 90 has also halved from last season. He’s been subbed for Tsimikas in the previous four matches too – which is a bit of a red flag considering that Robertson...

... rarely got subbed last season. If we get early team news that he is starting, I guess you can afford to keep given the fixture but I wouldn’t mind selling for someone like a Williams if the move allows you to upgrade elsewhere in your squad this week.

Q) What to do with Ramsdale? Only Man City have a better xG conceded than Arsenal this season. Saliba and Gabriel both have over 90% pass completion and will be monsters for bonus accumulation over the course of the season. No team has a better xG from set plays than...

... Arsenal either. That makes their centre backs very good options who are likely to represent great value. Having said that, I'm beginning to question whether Ramsdale has the haul potential that he had last season. We're five GWs in & Ramsdale is yet to register a save...

... point this season. A large part of his haul potential last season was his ability to rack up the saves from low xG shots & accumulate bonus points. I’m not sure if that is the case anymore. If you are planning to Wildcard in GW9 and have two free transfers in hand with...

... nothing better to do, I’d go for Sanchez as the replacement. Sanchez looks to be the budget goalkeeper of choice this season - he's offering a perfect combination of clean sheets, saves and bonus potential. Only Spurs and Arsenal have conceded fewer big chances than...

... Brighton this season. The good thing from a FPL point of view is that Brighton have a really strong fixture run as well and I prefer owning Sanchez over any of their defenders as a result of his bonus & saves potential.

If you are on a Wildcard, I’d go for Sanchez if you’re tight on budget. If not, then Pope would be my pick because Newcastle have a really good run of fixtures to come over the long run.

Q) Is it too early to Wildcard in GW6? For the first time in six GWs, I see a legit case for Wildcarding a template team. Perisic, Robertson, Ramsdale & Rodrigo are all popular players who need to be dealt with. I believe that the threshold for Wildcarding should be lower...

... with unlimited changes at our disposal for the World Cup. This is a season where almost all of the engaged managers will have the same six or seven players in their teams – so if the Wildcard is giving you the opportunity to gain significant value addition out of the four...

... or five who are your differentials, go for it.

Here is my Fantasy5 team: *Jorginho is on penalties and only needs a goal to beat his points target *KDB has had his rest *I expect Richarlison to start after Conte talked up rotation *Rashford playing up front *Toney’s underlying numbers still impressive despite recent blanks
