I landed my first Data Analyst job barely 6 months after I pivoted to Tech, and had a 600% increase in salary (no cap). Here's how I applied and aced my interviews, in 5 easy but effective steps. You might learn a thing or two going through it. A thread:

1. APPLY, APPLY, APPLY: I must have sent over 10 applications daily. I applied anywhere I saw a vacancy, whether they needed 10 years of experience or people under 15. It must have been a lot of work for the recruiters, but I had always been passionate about not starving to death

2. PORTFOLIO & ASSESSMENT: Finally one of the companies reached out, asked for a link to my portfolio and also sent an assessment for me to complete. Since I didn't have any experience I tried to have 3 projects in my portfolio. The assessment wasn't timed so I used Google a lot.

3. FIRST INTERVIEW: This is the most important phase. I researched everything I could about the company, read extensively about their values, strengths, goals and job description. The interviewer thought I was stalking them when I told her about her education and job experience.

4. SECOND INTERVIEW: The technical assessment phase. I'm a dedicated learner so I picked up a lot of skills within those 6 months. I also checked on Glassdoor and YouTube for possible interview questions for the role and company, so I was a little bit prepared for what to expect.

5. THIRD INTERVIEW: The behavioral assessment phase. Most of the questions asked here are hypothetical, you might not have been in that situation before. This is a test to see your thought process so you should be a great storyteller. Research on the STAR method.

Then the offer letter came and they asked if I was okay with the salary, Leemao. Even if you divide it by two ma, me I'll still work. "Na only me know wetin my eyes don see".

Lastly, I was able to sew this thread with the help of @BowTied_Raptor. If you're just starting your Data Science journey or you're stuck, check out his blog: https://t.co/caZtJqdku5. It contains detailed articles, resources and material to make your journey smooth.

Bonus point: Try to build a relationship with God, where you not only talk to Him, but can also hear Him speak to you. It's so much easier to navigate through life when you're given directions from the One who controls everything. It makes things come to you more easily without

too much effort or stress. It's not the time and age to leave anything to chance and try out everything hoping one works. Please retweet for others to benefit and you can reach out if you have any questions.
