A young Indian woman in the UK who took Ayurvedic treatment for arthritis died of herbal liver injury and subsequent liver failure There are many lessons in this tragic report A šŸ§µ

1/ All medicines have side effects** Benefits of modern medicines far outweigh their risks Herbal medicines have no benefits and high or unknown risk **Excpetion: classically prepared Homeopathy remedies with dilution above 12C which are essentially water.

2/ Ayurveda practitioners DO NOT have basic or advanced level understanding of human anatomy or physiology. Alternative medicine practitioner lack the basic aptitude to identify or understand about therapy, therapy effects or consequences They are basically like newborns

3/ Ayurveda or any such alternative practice thrives on fraud, lies and deception There is no evidence that Ayurveda is useful for any form of arthritis or any disease known to humans Ayurveds and Homeopaths have deceived themselves into believing that their meds work

4/ Every alternative medicine practitioner will spend hell of a time with you and build a rapport. That doesn't mean they are doing good by you. They are marketing themselves and packaging their lies to trap you in their false benevolence. Lack of scientific approach harms.

5/ This Ayurveda practitioner dint even realize she was harming patient IMAGINE BLOODY SCARY A real doc would never harm a patient If the treatment harms, a real doc wud immediately realize, take corrective measures With alternative meds you are stuck between devil and sea!

6/ Ayurveda is a primitive primal form of practice Medical science is ever chaging, updated day by day How can a pseudoscience be updated? It can't be. Ayurveda practitioners are inherently outdated because their practice and principles are based on obsolete theories!

7/ Ayurvedic practice is absurd Its harms are real [I repeat] Its benefits none It's an avoidable health burden Develop a scientific temper Understand what's real and what's not You are on your own Your life is yours Learn, grow, thrive - thru science

Those who are going to bring "smart" comments like "Ayurveda cured my jaundice, or reduced my uncle's friends diabetes or cured my neighbors dogs prostate cancer etc.." and such testimonials, please dont. Its f*cking LAME.

Most intriguing, devastatingly sad part is that herbal drug use is world wide, More among Asians who embrace pseudoscience such as Traditional Chinese Medicine/Ayurveda & more Asians than others develop herbal liver injuries leading to death or transplant in non-Asian regions!
