DAY 14 WALKING IN THE WISDOM OF GOD (IN THE WRITTEN WORD) - 2 Ephesians 5:15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Vs 16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Vs 17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

Recall from yesterday’s study, the word of God is the wisdom of God. Thus, to walk in the wisdom of God is to walk in the word, and this is following the leading of God’s Spirit. Also, when the believer renews (re-educates) his mind with the written word, he/she will recognize

and consequently walk in the will of God. Thus, as I feed on God’s word daily, and act on the same, I am following the leading of the Spirit of God. Hence, Paul’s prayer for believers in his letter to the Colossians. Colossian 1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard

it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; Vs 10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge

of God; In other words, the believer walking worthy of the lord unto all pleasing and being fruitful in every good work is a function of increasing in the knowledge of God (in Christ). Hence, a skillfulness is made available to us in the precise knowledge of what God has done

(every good thing in us) in Christ. He made available to us such insights that we can walk in, in our everyday life. in essence, as we increase / grow in this understanding, there comes a skillfulness, which becomes evident in our thoughts, words and actions towards others.

Thus, the wisdom of God, which is the written word, helps us to place value on spiritual realities, which in turn affects our conduct, relationships, and decisions. Therefore, the written word is the primary judge of whether we are walking in God’s wisdom (will) for our lives

or not. Sometimes, in the eyes of the world, it might not be logically acceptable, and this is because the world sees the wisdom of God as foolishness. 1st Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him:

neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But to us, the written word is the wisdom of God for our lives. Therein we have the evidence of who we are, all that we have, and the ongoing work of God in and through us, by His Spirit.

1st Corinthians 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. Therefore, the primary way God leads us (believers) is via the written word. In essence, when we read the Scriptures and see instructions, this is God leading

and directing us, in how to conduct ourselves in our everyday life. Confession: I choose to feed and meditate on God’s word daily. As I do, I increase in my understanding and knowledge of His word (His will), and I walk worthy of the Lord, unto all pleasing daily.
